Applied through school, firm contacted me a few weeks later. Conducted a skype interview with them. Interview was with 2 interviewers in a casual setting, nothing technical. Interview was probably just to know you and whether you will fit the firm's culture and dynamics
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Leeds, England) in Feb 2018
Interview
It was a digital interview and exercise followed by an experience day. The interview questions were genuinely thought provoking and made me think about myself in new ways, as cliche as that sounds! It did crash several times, but I just reloaded the link and carried on fine. The experience day was almost fun, if it hadn't been for the pressure of trying to get a job! It was very relaxed and friendly. The interviews lasted 40-60 minutes depending on the candidate (mine was fairly short). The group exercise involved discussing and presenting conclusions on how to improve a fictional town in one of their VE index baskets.
10 interview questions and then a written piece. The interview was a digital interview that had to be completed within 7 days which allowed me to take it at a time suitable. However being a digital interview there was very little human interaction and thus I found it hard to answer some of the questions and I felt they were not very relevant to me and my experience, a video/Skype interview or a telephone one would be a better option if face to face interviews cannot be taken.
