The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Dallas, TX) in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied through online campus website. Firm took us out to dinner for pre interview dinner where we got to meet staff of firm. Very laidback and casual, almost one to one staff to interviewee ratio. Day of interview, interviewed on campus with partner. Very laidback interview and talked about company culture.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2016
Interview
I was interested in working for GT and a friend who previously worked there introduced me to a partner. We had a very quick phone "interview" (more like a conversation), and then he arranged for a more formal interview about a week and a half afterwards. The "formal" interview started with meeting a recent experienced hire (closer to my level) for breakfast, which I really appreciated. Then we went up to the new offices and the partner gave me a tour and we chatted. Afterwards, we found a little conference room and I had 4 30-minute interviews with other partners and directors. It was pretty casual and conversational - we talked about our personal lives as well as past jobs and why GT is such an attractive company. I'm an experienced hire, so I also talked a lot about the transition from industry into audit, and about how my experience in industry would make me valuable to the audit team.

Question 1
Why do you want to work for GT as opposed to big four?
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Jacksonville, FL)
Interview
My first and second interview were at the UNF campus. Audit managers and partner were super down to earth and approachable. GPA and academics are important to them but they seemed to be mostly interested in getting to know me and seeing how well my personality fits in the company.

Question 1
Surprisingly enough there was not a single interview question. My interview consisted of a regular conversation.
