I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Portland, OR) in Dec 2011
Interview
Phone interview, in person interview, and group web cam interview. I was contacted by a recruiter, then placed on a phone interview which went well. Then I did a group web cam meeting in the office, followed up with a one on one meeting with the office manager.

Question 1
The process was easy going and natural. They are looking to assess your personality.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Anchorage, AK) in Jan 2014
Interview
Called on phone after on line application. Set up interview, conducted interview. Told me that another person would call, never happened. Emailed later that that person was unavailable. They sounded interested but waited over 2+ weeks to send request for information regarding very specific experience in reference to a new government program. I could have provided the information, but the job had a shelf life of 2 years, decided that it wasn't worth it.

Question 1
Mostly just chit chat, nothing technical or based upon my resume.
I met the recruitment team at my school's career fair. There was a two step interview process (one on campus and one at the local office). Both interviews were relatively simple. The thing I like most about Grant Thornton is that the interviews are very much like a conversation with a friend. Everyone is so nice and easy to talk to to.

Question 1
One question that really made an impression on me was "how do you think we could increase profits for the firm?" I thought this was a great question because it made me realize that Grant Thornton truly does value the opinions of all employees and potential employees.
