I applied for a summer 2025 Tax internship as a 2nd-year college student. The phone call was the pre-interview with the recruiter. I met two senior accountant managers from separate fields at my 2nd interview. I did not expect a third round with another two managers at Grant Thornton (Tax Manager and Managing Director). I got a rejection email two days after the 3rd round stating that it was "too competitive." While most firms only have two rounds. Overall, the interview process will be complicated if you don't know the people there or have recommendations. Grant Thornton's interview process isn't only difficult but time-consuming.
