      Associate, Resources and Energy Interview

      Jun 8, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Londres, Inglaterra
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at HSBC (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jan 2011

      Interview

I directly approached Head of Resources and Energy via email and was put on to various directors. I first met an oil and gas director who asked questions on technical modelling skills and my interest in natural resources. In my second set of interviews I met a metals and mining MD and a power and utilities director. The discussion centred on my past experience, prospects for commodity markets, business growth opportunities and my motivation for applying for the role. In the end they chose an internal candidate already covering natural resources who would transfer from South America. It was a good experience and I am still in touch with one of my interviewers regularly.
