Interview
I applied for a legal counsel position at HPE's offices in France (Puteaux). The HR people were competent, nice and overall pretty reactive. The process took two weeks, answers were given on time and on the phone. 4 steps process (HR ITW ; manager ITW ; Team ITW ; Senior manager ITW). First interview with an HR. Second interview through Teams with the manager (Head of legal France). Good experience at this point. Third interview with the team (legal team consisting of two counsels). Asked for a glass of water and never got it (they just forgot probably). As a result, had to manage a dry throat for an hour long interview. Some off-putting questions I admit (nothing illegal or weird), technical questions, personality ones. But hey, they were still nice. Then, a short talk with the manager at the coffee machine, which was nice. The reason given for rejection was "lack of experienced/more experienced candidates", which is never easy to hear after 4 interviews. Overall, hard and long recruitement process but they legitimately seem to care about your experience (manager even proposed to debrief after I got rejected. Nice effort to leave a positive feedback). The company seems to be worth the effort of going through such a lengthy process.
