I encountered challenges during the interview process with the International Rescue Committee. Initially, I received an automated notification indicating that I did not advance to the initial interview round. However, I later received a direct email from HR, clarifying that the notice was sent in error. Following this, I participated in the initial interview which involved standard questions, and subsequently progressed to the writing sample stage. I was tasked with preparing a two-page policy position paper on a specific issue, with a deadline of 1:00 pm the following day. I submitted my response by 11:00 am on the due date. Regrettably, I have not received further communication from the organization since. I hold a deep disappointment in the handling of this process, as I believe organizations dedicated to aiding others should uphold a high standard of respect for all applicants. As a result of this experience, I have decided not to pursue future opportunities with this organization and will reevaluate my financial contributions accordingly.
