I was contacted by an internal recruiter a couple weeks after applying for the opportunity and asked several screening questions related to my background, experience, skills and salary requirements. Ended up going through 7 45-minute phone screens over the next couple weeks along with 2 separate on-site 45-minute interviews with HR and ultimately the hiring authority only to be contacted 1-week later and informed they would like to move forward but the base salary offered would be around 30k below what I had previously informed them of my salary requirements during the initial screening. Complete waste of time for both myself and the interviewers.
