      Assistant Branch Manager Interview

      Mar 4, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in Feb 2010

      Interview

My first contact after applying online was a call from a recruiter with Chase. After speaking to him about my background and experience, he set up an interview for me with a branch manager about a week later. That interview went very well. The recruiter called about a week after that interview to set up a phone interview with a member of the operations team the following week. The phone interview also went very well. The recruiter called me a week after that and told me the following, "Everything is looking great. I'm going to set you up an interview with the district manager. So long as you don't screw up that you should be getting a call from a different HR recruiter to extend an offer." No pressure, right? So about a week after that conversation (seeing a trend here? It must be standard procedure at Chase to wait a week in between each contact with an applicant) I interviewed with the DM. That interview went well too, at least I thought. He told me I should expect a call from HR within the next few days. A week had passed and I hadn't heard anything so I called the HR recruiter that I had been working with and leave him a VM. No call back. Couple more days passed and I emailed the original manager that I had interviewed with to inquire on the status. She says "as far as I know every thing is looking good to get you on board". I think great, as long as I'm in there's nothing to worry about, I can wait. A couple days after this I get a call from the other HR recruiter wanting to schedule an interview with a different branch manager. Apparently there was some rearranging and they weren't sure where they wanted to place me. So I interviewed with the 2nd manager (4th interview by now) and it went great. I asked her at the end if this wait is typical and she ensured me I had nothing to worry about. So that makes 2 managers and a recruiter filling me with hope. A week passes and I hear nothing. I call both HR recruiters that I had been working with and get no return calls. A couple more days pass and I receive the dreaded generic 'thanks but no thanks' email. Are you KIDDING ME? I try to call to get a reason behind the decision and of course I can't get a hold of anyone. Four interviews spanning over a month and a half with VERY optimistic feedback and this is all I get? RIDICULOUS.

      Interview

It was runned by artificial inteligence. I had some questions to answer and my video was recorded. As I understood the AI kept checking my movements and expression to detect confidence, knowledge anf other things.
