I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in Nov 2021
Interview
I applied online and a recruiter contacted me about one month later, asked about compensation expectations and setup an 1 hour interview with the hiring manager. The interview wasn't what I had expected, I would thought there would be a multipart interview but turns out it was only 1 interview with hiring manager before they extended an offer.
The offer stage was the most frustrating. I accepted the first verbal offer for 210k and one week later, the recruiter called and said the position could only offer 175k. Tried to negotiate to bump it near the original offer and one week passed and recruiter said that was the best offer. I accepted the verbal offer for 175k, that day later received another call that the position could only offer 130k, declined offer since that's way way below what I'm looking for.
I was transparent about my compensation expectations during the whole process and it was very unprofessional that the compensation changed multiple times after accepting the verbal offer.
Wasted my time and energy here but glad I dodged a bullet. Good luck to others!

Interview
- Pretty easy interview, just java language questions
- HR is absolutely horrible. They'll ghost you for weeks
- Got the offer pulled at the last minute, and HR did nothing to help and didn't update me
This was my first interview, but the interview process was quite standard. My interviewer was very professional, and it felt like a good and structured interview. I left feeling quite confident.
