Application through a form on the company careers website.
Phone screening with a recruiter (10 days after online application)
Form to fill sent via email by recruiter to allow a 2d screening by hiring manager.(7 days after phone screening)
1st real interview with the hiring manager (Teams visiocall), spontaneous without preparation. (after a few email exchanges, on the same day: not always the case with this company, usually you have to wait from a few days to a few weeks for this 2d screening, but not so much)
2d interview with the hiring manager and an experienced colleague from him (Teams visiocall). This one very structured and following company's precise processes. Preparation material specific and not specific to the role and comprehensive guidance was given beforehand by email a few days/about a week before. There was a Technical Brief to prepare which consisted in 6 questions directly related to the role, and for which was expected a 10min answer in the form of a PowerPoint presentation or another chosen tool, . Otherwise there was a number of behavioral and technical question to answer, with both prepared structure and also some spontaneous, discussion opening ones. Behavioral questions where to answer with the STAR structure and related to JLR creator’s code: “Customer Love, Unity, Integrity, Growth and Impact”. (this 2d interview was proposed 3 weeks and 4 days= 25days after the 1st one and we found a date 8 days after the proposition of a 2d interview).
Hiring offer via email 3days after (in total: 1 month and 3 weeks were necessary to go from the online application to a formal offer from Jaguar Land Rover)
Then sending of the contracts and accompanying papers in the following days and acceptance from myside 2.5 weeks after (was finishing the hiring process with other offers at the same time, took the time to reflect about it as other were positive as well).
As I am from a EU country and I am not British, the VISA procedure lead to starting this role 5 months after I signed the contract / the procedure was kicked-off. JLR provided the services of a specialized organism (EY=Ernst & Young) to help me do my VISA application, sponsored me and paid for all fees related to my VISA apart from the compulsory standardised english test (IELTS, Pearson, PSI or LanguageCert). Those fees would need to be repaid proportionally if I were to not stay at least 5 years in the company like other help JLR provide to help move for the job (it is a mutual trust and investment, it makes sense in my opinion and its a nice system).
