I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (New York, NY) in Mar 2010
Interview
Pretty standard for such a large bank. I first met with the group head then the junior analyst to discuss why i wanted equity research. This was followed up by a meeting with their division head and the lady who runs their training program. Overall a great experience people were really nice.

Question 1
Why JP Morgan? What skills do you bring to the table?
First just a phone call with the analyst. If 'passed' that phone call then get a modeling test. This includes linking the three financial statements and writing up an earnings recap

Do you know anything about the companies under my coverage
It was fine depending on the analyst that interviews you - some analysts are just arrogant and kept interrupting. Focused on resume and motivation. Few stock pitch. Some technical questions but not much.
