I applied in-person. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente in Aug 2012
Interview
I met informally with the prospective manager and we talked about the role and expectations. I had already spoken with the manager on many occasions, we had discussed a lot of things about the job and what it entailed, and she knew that I was finishing my degree so I could accept the job. I know she had already spoken with my current manager and my work performance was strong, so I guess she didn't feel the need to perform a formal interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There really wasn't an interview, per se. I had bought a suit and was expecting a formal interview, but that didn't happen.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente (Sacramento, CA) in Feb 2012
Interview
Panel interview with multiple standard questions basics such as how you would handle specific situations. Other questions included wanting to know what your skill set is and if it fit the job. The hard part is when you do not know that specific department they tend to hire from within the department due to the knowledge of that employee. There was a second interview where I was required to prepare a presentation to the same panel.

Think of a situation where you had to manage a difficult situation what did you do?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente (Denver, CO) in Jun 2013
Interview
There was quite a few group interviews. I sat in at least four group interviews. The first interview had 20 people and a panel of 6 Doctors and Nurses. It is hard to make a good first impression when there are 20 people interviewing. The worst experience ever.
