They were going through the motions of interviewing external applicants. But i got the impression that they had already selected who they wanted internally. A waste of time as they were only ticking boxes to meet internal standards.

They essentially had an open discussion with me and no real questions about my experience and fit for the role. As I mentioned above they were just going through the motions as they had already selected an internal candidate.
