The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger in Sep 2010
Interview
It's really hard getting a job at Kroger. The application process is horrible, too many questions. I had put in an application a numerous amount of times before hire. I had a friend who worked there, she told her manager I was looking for a job. I called the manager everyday by name. It wasnt really an interview. No questions were asked, she just discussed my pay rate, I took the drug test on spot, and she set up my training date.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger (Lexington, KY) in Apr 2011
Interview
applied to the kroger company and waited 2 days before i called and asked about my application and the hiring process. Once they told me they would review my application and return my call within the next 2 days, the hiring manager called me in for an interview. At the interview i was quite calm, the hiring manager was very nice and had allot in common with me, she asked me a few basic questions like...
Tell me a little about yourself...
why are you interested in the kroger company? I said because its a steady place to work with competitive pay for a position while im just in school.
what do you expect to make working for kroger? dont be afraid to aim high, i told her $10.00 an hour, apparently kroger has a program online that automatically tells them what to pay you with your experience.
can you do a drug screening? I did a mouth swab in her office the day of the interview and was offered a position.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger (Cincinnati, OH) in Feb 2012
Interview
Interview was conducted by a panel of 4 people, one Controller, one Assistant Controller, and two Senior Analysts. It was a very informal interview that flowed much like a conversation with questions ranging from "What existing Kroger processes do you think need improvement?" to "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" After the interview I was given a fairly simple Excel skills assessment test where I had to walk the panel through the making of a pivot table to quickly find records in a large data set. Overall, interview was very laid back, and a pleasant experience.
