The interview process was lengthy, involving at least four rounds, and I felt there was little consideration for candidates’ existing commitments. Interview times were often presented as fixed, with limited flexibility for scheduling.
The first two rounds were with members of the hiring team, both of whom were friendly, and ok to speak with.
The third round required a presentation with significant preparation work, despite only a short notice period being provided. I was told this was intended to assess the ability to work under tight deadlines.
The fourth round was with the hiring manager, who requested an interview the very next day. Unfortunately, this was the least positive part of the process. During the interview, the hiring manager frequently interrupted my responses, making the conversation feel more like an interrogation than a discussion. It seemed as though there was an expected “model answer” for each question, rather than an interest in understanding my actual experience and perspective. The overall tone felt aggressive and not particularly engaging.
What I found especially surprising was that this was for an AI-related role, yet the hiring manager appeared to describe web scraping tools as AI, which raised some concerns about the team’s understanding of the field.
Overall, while some members of the hiring team were friendly, the interview process felt demanding, inflexible and the hiring manager being aggressive has ultimately left a negative impression.
