I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley
Interview
I applied online and received a reply the next day asking me to take the online assessments. I completed the assessments and received an email asking to fill out business plan. Got called to come in for an interview about a month later. It was a very professional interview. We acquainted ourselves briefly and jumped right into it. The interview itself took about 45 minutes and ended with me having an opportunity to ask a few questions. I felt it went well especially since they told me I did quite well on the online assessments. I got a call back about a week later informing me that they were going with someone else. Even though I didn't get the job, I understand this is part of the job searching process and felt that the overall experience was extremely professional.

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Oakbrook Terrace, IL) in Dec 2011
Interview
I applied by sending my resume and agreeing online to show up to their "open house" so to speak. It was a group of 7 applicants in one room, the hiring manager explained what the company does and the what the position includes. Each applicant met with two interviewers for a quick 10 min interview and then were sent home, we were to fill out the application online and complete the assessment if not already done. The hiring manager never called me back and when I was able to finally get in contact with him he said he never received my application in his email and they had already made their decision.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in Jun 2010
Interview
I got the contact through a recruiter. They called me for a phone interview to ask about my experience, and at then to also schedule a time to a 1:1 interview. I was then placed with a team for a interview with the head of the group. I got the offer from the team head, pending manager approval. The third time I went there, I had to prepare a business plan which I presented and then was given the official offer.
