I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2011
Interview
Difficult interviews. It is obvious that there is no understanding for foreigners. They are definitely looking for top candidates from top universities. It is a status competition and they try to make you feel uncomfortable to test what you are made of. More focus on work than work life balance.

Question 1
What is your biggest weakness? How many hours can you work? Do you have any hobbies?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Baltimore, MD) in Jun 2012
Interview
It was very informal (surprisingly). One of my friends already worked there, and basically my supervisor's willingness to take me on as an intern was a favor toward my friend. I suppose I owe my friend, right? The questions were very basic, nothing technical. Just an attempt to get to know me, my wishes, and my experiences leading up to the internship.

Interview
Call from HR representative, brief phone interview, then brought into offices for their Super Day final round interviews which consisted of four separate 1/2 hour interviews with members of various departments. Interview questions were surprisingly all very situational/personality based rather than finance-based. Overall, the process was not difficult, but it was definitely intimidating. Interviewed on a Thursday, received offer the following Tuesday. Quick turn around rate.
