I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Mumbai)
Interview
2 telephonic discussions - fully scenario based in Core Java. Full 1 hour each.
Then was called for a F2F discussion in their Mumbai, Malad office from Pune. 4 technical discussions followed on the same day, which were all white board scenario based questions. By this time the day was almost over, I was asked by the HR though to skip my train as there would be an HR round and a Managerial round. I had no option but to let go my train booking. The HR round was more on the figures to be discussed. The HR was pretty fine with my number citations. She insisted on what she can do to make me stop looking for further opportunities elsewhere. I was pretty happy as this point. This was when the Managerial round happened. The Manager took a full technical round. He then asked me about the numbers I had quoted before the HR, which I told him. Without pausing for a second, he stated - "It's not possible". I was then told to wait in the lobby and then the HR called me stating that I had made it, and that I could leave for the day. I was back home and the next day the HR called again saying that even though I had made it, there would be two fitment rounds which would be just for the sake of formality and that I should have no doubts in my mind. Two weeks after the fitment rounds began. I was asked to attend them on weekdays post 9pm something. After the two rounds, there was total pause from the HR. All my calls to her number went unanswered. I had to call my consultancy through which this process was happening.
The consultancy took two days to revert that my resume did not meet their criteria. After almost 9 technical discussions and the HR citing that she can do to make me look elsewhere this was the thing that didn't go down very well with me. They even did not reimburse my travel from Pune to Mumbai saying that they consider both the cities same.
By God, I have never seen such a confused organization and I can just take pity on the employees working there.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Bengaluru) in Apr 2018
Interview
Not a pleasant experience because they lack professionalism.
Overall I had 8 rounds (including HR round) before they decided to not take my application forward.
I had 3 technical rounds on the first day overlapping with lunch hours and they had not accounted for it. Next day, I was given a feedback that they wanted someone more technical and they don't want to take my application forward. I was fine with it but I got a call again within 1 week later stating they were considering my profile for a techno functional role. I clearly told them I wasn't looking for a technical architect kind of role and they ensured it was a techno functional profile. In the next 2 rounds I was asked questions on agile and people management.
On the third day they set up 3 rounds - Round 1 with executive director, round 2 with managing director and round 3 with HR. The interview with ED was at 12:30 followed by MD interview at 1:30 and HR round at 2. HR called me at 12:30 to inform that the ED would be delayed and he would be available only at 2 for the round so they had requested the MD to talk to me at 1. I was waiting for the MD round and when I did not get the call I called up HR. I was then told that MD is not available before 1:30. At 1:30 the MD called me and chatted for 30 mins which went fairly well. ED came at 2 and asked a few technical and Scrum/ Agile implementation questions. I was able to answer most of them. I then had my HR round at 3 and was done by 3:30 after which I had my lunch.
I did not hear from HR for a couple of days and then I got a mail stating they decided to not take my application forward.
Regardless of the offer, I would have appreciated the entire experience if
1. They had slotted my lunch time in the schedule considering their interviews don't start before 12
2. Their interviewers had respected my time
3. They had provided concrete reasons for why they decided to not take my application forward
Interview experience matters a lot and I really hope they take care of it.
I would not recommend anyone to go beyond 3 rounds if they see this pattern.

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Mumbai) in Jul 2017
Interview
The interview process was like below:
2 telephonic technical rounds (1 hr each)
3 F2F technical rounds (avg 1hr each)
1 HR round
2 so called fitment rounds
I was interviewed at Morgan Stanley, Mumbai office for a position which was based out of their bangalore office. Initially the recruiter told they would reimburse the travel to Mumbai office, later said they won't. So I travelled on my own. By the end of the day, the HR team informed that I have made it and asked me to submit my salary slips and present companies offer letter and latest revision letter.
After two days the HR person got in touch again and informed that two fitment rounds have to be done and that it would be just a formality.
The two fitment rounds held from NY, turned out to be full fledged technical rounds in themselves.
After that their was a lull of a week. I called the HR team, but they picked up my call. I mailed them, no reply either. I had to finally get in touch with my recruiter and got to hear the worst explanation of my life, that I did not meet their eligibility criteria. WTF !! seriouslly??
How can a firm tell me this after assurances from the HR team and after seven rounds of interview? Seriously a miser firm which probably wanted a rocket scientist at the pay scale of a barber.
I won't attend any interview with this firm ever. Pissed out to the core of my heart.
