The interview experience felt unprofessional and raised concerns about the integrity of the hiring process. It gave the impression that the objective may have been to meet internal hiring KPIs rather than to genuinely identify and recruit qualified candidates.
From the outset, the tone was discouraging. Hiring manager, Phillip Magdaleno opened the conversation by emphasizing the stressful nature of the role and suggesting that my background is not fit. He further noted that many individuals had previously struggled in the position and ultimately left. This framing occurred before I had even spoken one sentence and begun my self-introduction, creating an unnecessarily negative and dismissive atmosphere.
If there were concerns regarding my qualifications, please simply not forward to interview process. Beginning the discussion with implications that I am not suitable for the role was both confusing and unprofessional.
Overall, the experience left me questioning the organization’s approach to candidate evaluation and its integrity of professionalism in the hiring process.
