I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Budapest) in Sep 2024
Interview
As I remember there would have been 4 rounds in total. Long phone interview with HR in english. It was very tiring, answering the questions that could be answered from my CV. Technical interview in english again. Totally prepared for solving recursive algorithmic problems, and there it was. Although I was nervous at the beginning, felt really comfortable answering java related questions in english then almost solved portfolio calculation problem in hackerrank with recursion. I didn't feel I wanted to work with these guys though. There were no chemistry and they did not let me move on to the next stage either. Which would be a technical interview with the team I guess, then executor interview. Little overwhelming if you ask me. One lesson I took for sure: should not go to an interview where I really do not want to work. They feel it and it doesn't help to your self-esteem.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is object in java? What are interfaces? How do you query from one or more sql tables? What is the technique to optimally query from a huge database? The answer should be it depends, but we went to the direction of indexing and we were talking about indexing of a db table. The algorithm should be solved with hashmap and recursion.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Londres, Inglaterra) in Apr 2024
Interview
I applied for Java Developer role at Morgan Stanley in March 2024.
Had an initial call with the recruiter to discuss more about the role.
INTERVIEW FOR PROJECT 1.
1st round video Interview was conducted on April 16th 2024.
The interview was conducted as three rounds, a code review, pair coding and a system design round, different interviewers for each round in one call, which I believe I have done my best.
INTERVIEW FOR PROJECT 2.
Next 30mins phone Interview was conducted on April 25th 2024.
This 30mins initial interview was for a different project, in the same organization, surprisingly they had openings in more than one project at that time and for each project we have to go through their own interview process. Basic Java interview questions were asked for this round. It went well. I had more hopes!
INTERVIEW RESULTS FOR PROJECT 1
- PASSED
FINAL ONSITE INTERVIEW FOR PROJECT 1

INTERVIEW CANCELLED
The final onsite Interview was cancelled one day before the interview and the REASON- DUE TO A REVIEW OF THE HEAD COUNT.
FOLLOWING-UP AFTER INTERVIEW CANCELLED
JUNE 2024 - Recruiter replied - The situation is still the same here and we are waiting the outcome of our business review currently. When things change here will get in touch with you to share any opportunity. Unfortunately I do not have any further information I can share at the moment.
AUGUST 2024 - NO RESPONSE
OCTOBER 2024 - NO RESPONSE
STILL NO RESPONSE!
This was the the worst Interview experience I have had in my life. Despite reaching out multiple times, I have not received any response. Given the considerable time and effort I have invested in the technical rounds, and the success I achieved in passing all of them, I hope them to have a better communication and treat the candidates with little respect!
