I had an initial screening call with a recruiter who was very professional and recommended my profile to the hiring manager who is the Country Lead of Finland & Norway who lacked simple common decency. At the start, he told me he would only speak with me for 30 minutes and openly admitted that he had already formed a negative opinion of me. He said my interest in the team and technology came across as “desperate,” which I found both surprising and disheartening. Throughout the conversation, his tone felt dismissive and, at times, unnecessarily condescending.
This was, frankly, one of the most unpleasant professional interactions I’ve had.
