Interview
HR asked if I would consider an alternative role because they had filled the Director of Sales - Business Development position with someone that had more experience. Phone interview was good. We scheduled a late on-site with the Sales Manager and it was clear that I was overqualified for the other role. The commission structure is awful and they couldn’t match my base. I continued to express interest after discussing benefits with them via email. The expectation was set that I would meet with the Director to proceed in the interview process, but that never happened. In fact, they stopped communicating altogether. I continued cadence and the HR contact told me that I didn’t get the job. I hope they show a little more consideration for prospect’s time when conducting these interviews and setting better expectations on the process.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, every candidate is not a fit for every role. We need to take a close look at related industry skills. I am happy we were able to offer you an interview for an individual contributor role. I apologize that it did not meet your income expectations. It is implied a sales role would be less than a management role. We wish you the best of luck going forward in your career.
