I applied online. I interviewed at PayPal (San Jose, CA) in May 2017
Interview
Multiround interview on campus. Out of five interviewers, two of them convinced me I'd never want to work there. One of them asked my to write code on a whiteboard, another one asked be very pedantically about times I demonstrated leadership. Same guy paused and in a very pedantic way asked me not to talk about what "we" did, but "you."
Great interview process for first 3 rounds. Then I met with a VP who showed up 15 minutes late and was texting and emailing during the entire interview. The first 3 rounds I was fortunate to meet with some great individuals, but the last round was such a turn off.

Told I was not given the role because I was deemed way too overqualified, but I'm welcome to come back to interview for more senior roles (which never pan out so I went down a step). In any case, couldn't they have told me that upfront?

Question 1
Interview questions varied but were nothing extraordinary
Recruiter reached out and had a good conversation. Set me up a meeting with a hiring manager and someone else on the team. After the interviews I never heard from anyone again, and received a rejection email 60 days later. Overall poor experience.

Typical questions- tell me about yourself, why do you want to work at PayPal, what would you bring to the role.
