I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Principal Financial Group in Apr 2016
Interview
By far the best interview I have ever had. It wasn't an interview for applying to their open position, it was a honest and genuine dialogue regarding my interviews and my pursuit of this career. Essentially it was like sitting down for a lunch with an experienced veteran of the financial services field that is a family friend. It was unlike any experience I've never had with any job interview I have ever gone to. This company is honest, real and %100 genuine and a company I recommend to anyone for financial planning and the like. They truly follow their values and culture of the company. Do not hesitate if you're thinking of applying to Principal. Even if you have no offer even for a 2nd interview with them, you will gain major advice, tips and knowledge regarding any other interviews for a company as a financial advisor. I went expecting another predictable interview and left with a well connected mentor and guide for my journey in finding the position that is ideal for me. He wanted me to succeed and become a financial advisor simply because he believes in this job as well as only desires an influx of capable and customer centric new hires in the field:
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Not any interview questions at all. It was a honst conversation about the best route for me in the financial services field.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Principal Financial Group (Stockton, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
The interviewer was unprofessional- checked his phone, interrupted my answer abruptly to say something that had nothing to do with the job itself. He didn't ask any situational questions, just personality based. Overall, I think that if you don't have confidence walking into this interview, then keep practicing until you do. Because, it seems like if you don't interest the interviewer, its obvious.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Principal Financial Group (Charlotte, NC) in Dec 2012
Interview
They reviewed my licenses, the status of my book of business, and I met with the managing director about culture fit. The managing director wanted to understand my target client area, what my past experience in those areas was, and how I could use my existing clients and contacts to expedite revenue growth.
