I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2019
Interview
This interview process included a screening call with a recruiter, call with hiring manager, technical interview, and in-person presentation. I could tell throughout the process that the Salesforce team wanted to help me succeed. From offering resources to prepare to answering any questions, it was refreshing to know that this was the environment that I'd be joining.

Question 1
When should a sales engineer get involved with the sales cycle?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2019
Interview
The entire interview process took less than 1 month from the time the recruiter first reached out to the offer. I was extremely impressed with the entire process and how aligned the recruiting team and hiring manager were. Everybody was on point. The interview was appropriately difficult and the interviewers are not purposely trying to "trick" you. In the first couple of rounds, they are genuinely interested in how you work on a daily basis and how you can positively contribute to the role that you're interviewing for. The last panel round is the most difficult. I spent ~40 hours preparing for it. Make sure to get help from the coach that they assign to you and do multiple practice rounds with him/her. Overall it is a fairly difficult interview, but I didn't mind at all since I they took the time to explain WHY it is the way it is. I have experienced the opposite at other tech companies.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (New York, NY) in Jun 2019

5 parts:
1 HR call
1 SM call
1 Lead SC call
1 Director call
1 Final Interview Case Study
The first 4 are very straight forward. Basic feeler questions to understand who you are, what you want, if you're a fit. Nothing technical.
The final interview was INTENSE. They hook you up with a great S. SE that is working very hard to help you prepare as if their jobs depend on it. You get a case study (IE company xyz is having abc problems. CEO has ABC doubts, CIO has QWE doubts, etc). Demo them a solution for Sales/Service Cloud (Case study will tell you) in 40 minutes. You need to be able to sell the product and really sway the panel. Answer difficult questions. Shine under pressure, etc.
