      Portfolio Analyst Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

I was contacted a month after applying for an initial interview with a recruiter. The questions were about past experiences and interest for the role. After the initial stage , I moved on to a second hour long panel interview with the porfolio manager, associate porfolio manager and a portfolio analyst. There were basic behaviorial questions (strenghts ,weakneses....) and questions about my past experience and one investment related questions. The interview was followed by an hour long test that was sent by email in the following days. The test mainly had excel questions and few investment related questions. After the test they were supposed to communicate their final decision with the candidates. In my case , I did not hear back from them and my follow up attempts were ignored . A simple e-mail telling me that I did not get the job would have sufficed but instead they just chose to be unprofessional and ghost me.

      Question 1

How does your past experience relate to the role? Why are you interested in the position? How does this job fit with your career goals? What is your approach to handle disagreement with a coworker?
