I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ShopRunner
Interview
Was able to put employee referral and the process took about a week or so to have a phone call with HR. The phone call was scheduled for 30 minutes.
Beginning of the phone call, HR let me know that the position's location is changed to New York City. Asked if it was okay with me and proceeded with the interview. The interview went well overall as I was told that HR wanted to move forward with my application.
About a week and a half since the phone call, I reached out to HR to hear about the process and hear back maybe two days later.
I did not get the job which is understandable, but not happy with unprofessional work ethic.
1. Reason for not offering me a job sounded like I didn't know about the location change even though it was already discussed during the interview. More honest and direct answer is better.
2. Companies should learn to respect applicants more. If the job offer was already made, then it is more professional for company to let other applicants know instead of leave them hanging.
We are sorry to hear about the miscommunication here. We pride ourselves on being direct about status with any and all applications and get back to anyone who has interest. It sounds like, in this case, the transparency we pride ourselves on become hazy. Regardless of how things played out, we will strive to do better next time. Wishing you all the best!
