had a job interview at Starbucks yesterday, and the experience was surprisingly laid-back yet professional. The store manager greeted me warmly and led me to a small table near the back, away from the busy counter. She started with some casual conversation, asking what I knew about Starbucks and why I wanted to work there. I emphasized my love for the brand, my customer service experience, and my ability to work in a fast-paced environment. She then asked behavioral questions, like how I would handle a difficult customer or manage stress during a rush. I made sure to highlight my problem-solving skills and ability to stay positive under pressure.
Toward the end of the interview, she explained the expectations for baristas, from memorizing drink recipes to providing excellent customer interactions. She also asked about my availability and flexibility with scheduling. I could tell she was looking for someone who could adapt quickly and work well in a team. Before wrapping up, she gave me a quick tour of the store and introduced me to a few employees, which made the experience feel even more welcoming. She said she’d follow up within a few days, but I left feeling optimistic, knowing I had presented myself well and was a good fit for the role.

My interview was pretty easy due to the management team helping me out and developing me. I was able to remain calm during the interview and I knew that I had my manager’s support during my interview. The hack is to have answers relating to the L.A.T.T.E model.
