I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Apr 2015
Interview
I met Target at university career fair. I talked with the recruiters for about 10 minutes when I was scheduled an interview for the following week. I met with a store leader from the local city who sat down with me for a 30 minute interview. The interviewer used the STAR approach (Situation, Task, Action, Resolution). I felt that this interview went horrible but it didn't. Another recruiter followed up with me to set up two more interviews the following week. One with a STL and one with the DTL. My interview with STL went very well. He immediately let me know he was passing me for the interview with the DTL. Interview with DTL went well so I thought. I then got an email a few days later letting me know they were going to pursue other candidates. The next step would have been the final 15 minute interview with an HR Leader. All interviews used the STAR approach.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2014
Interview
Multi step interview process that was fairly straightforward and repetitive.
1. Met with recruiter at college career fair. She asked me a lot of questions and took my resume
2. Met with store team leader. He asked all behavior based questions. He also encouraged me to ask a lot of questions about the company, so have questions prepared in advance
3. I was then bumped to the human resources manager of the store. She asked a lot of similar behavior based questions.
4. Immediately thereafter, I shadowed one of the current ETLs around the store. She showed me a day in the life of her position and asked me a lot of questions about strengths and weaknesses.
5. After my first round of interviews, I completed assessment tests includinv a personality test, logic test, and management test.
6. A week later, I was called in for a phone interview with the HR district leader. Same behavior questions as before.
7. I was then bumped to an additional phone interview with the HR region leader, or whatever it's called. I received similar behavior based questions.
8. I finally received my formal offer and accepted, I completed a drug test 24 hours after my offer.
Time consuming, but positive, professional, and clear cut.
