I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Target in Sep 2013
Interview
The work culture at Target seems great! It's a very collaborative environment. Based on my informational interviews, you have to be comfortable with a meeting-oriented culture that is consensus driven and can be slow-moving at times. People are very friendly, positive and optimistic. Many people seem like they are or could be "lifers" since Target has opportunities in a variety of departments so you can control and grow your own career. Target is a hard company to get into and hires many agency people into marketing/buyer roles.
My initial interview with HR was positive. As a recent MBA, I was positioning myself for a buyer role, but I was told that given my experience and interests, there were no positions available.

Question 1
Initial interview was very "get-to-know-you" based. Tell me about your background, why MBA, what are your interests, etc.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN)
Interview
Expect at least 2 rounds of interviews, plus extensive testing and evaluation. First round of interviews is done by HR. Standard behavioral questions and probing your background. If you are invited to the second round at corporate headquarters, you will have to complete a couple of personality assessments as well as a case study. The case study will culminate in a live role play (most likely over the phone) - so prepare well! There is also an in-depth personality evaluation done with a consultant over the phone. Interviews at the corporate headquarters are all behavioral and you should expect 3-4 rounds of 45minute - 1 hour interviews. Make sure you have questions prepared to ask each interviewer as they will leave time at the end of the interview for them.

Question 1
Nothing difficult, but be prepared to explain and quantify results. Be prepared to talk about a failure and what you learned from it.
