      Hardlines Team Member Interview

      Jun 23, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Target

      Interview

Very laid back experience. Interviewer (who later turned to friend) was involved, organized, and real. No trace of faked professionalism. I was taken into a small, cozy room, and interviewed three times by two team leads, and the store manager. All one-on-one interviews in the span of a half hour with the same basic few questions (I assume so they can collectively make an opinion on me). They are incredibly focused on team work and common ground, even among the higher ups, so I suggest pushing for that in the interview. All three of them were very open to a mutual interview, so it was easy to ask my own questions without pressure. All in all, pretty simple experience, even for somebody who's never been involved in a real interview before like myself. Though Target is retail and closer to minimum wage, I would suggest it over many others of the same type. Very accepting of lifestyles and encourages expression, as long as it abides by the laid back dress code. A few issues I noted and expressed during my time there, but hopefully the company will only move upward in those areas in the years to come. Though from what I've picked up, many Targets have very differing experiences, so I'd strongly suggest looking up ratings and reviews for the specific store you're looking to apply to beforehand.

      Interview

Easy question and answer, felt honest and geniune. There were two back to back interviews, first with a team leader, then the executive lead. Not long after this I was given an offer.

      Interview

Easy, quick, to the point. Not as stressful as I imagined. Initial interview followed by two more. Final interview was with HR ETL. It was a pleasant experience. I would recommend to prepare, but not over prepare.
