I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services
Interview
TCS’s selection starts with NQT test. Successful candidates face a technical/managerial interview assessing skills and problem-solving. Finally, HR interview evaluates cultural fit, salary expectations, and communication. Overall, rigorous but fair.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One key question they asked me at TCS was to demonstrate my SQL skills—writing a JOIN query to fetch and aggregate data across tables. They also gave a short Python logic problem (e.g., reverse a string or implement a loop-based algorithm) to assess my coding fundamentals. Additionally, they probed details of my internship—what projects I worked on, technologies I used, and challenges I overcame. Finally, they asked how my long-term goals align with TCS’s emphasis on innovation and global delivery, so I explained my aspiration to grow as a full-stack developer and contribute to large-scale enterprise solutions, which dovetails with TCS’s focus on end-to-end digital transformation.
