The HR process was rather shambolic. There seems to be a lot of red tape behind all hiring decisions/processes.
There were two interviews. The first one was the standard HR, which was relatively straightforward. The second was more like a "Job Market interview", where I presented a research paper, followed by a Q&A session from the interview committee. The format of the interview was inspired by the AEA Job Market. However, the salary and the research expectations for this position cannot compare to the American/European market and were rather meagre and dismal.
In the end, I was offered a position but never heard back from them. The market signal they are sending to JM candidates is that they are serious about recruitment. Still, it seems they have financial or administrative constraints and ultimately fail to hire and attract international scholars.
