I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesco (Egham, England) in Mar 2017
Interview
I applied online and heard back within a week via email. They offered me an interview for the following week at midday but I asked to reschedule the interview for later on in the evening as i couldn't make it, they were happy to change the time and I interviewed at Tesco (Egham in March 2017). When I arrived I told the ladies on the customer service desk I was here for an interview and they asked me to sign in while they called someone. I waited a few minutes and they chatted to me about the position I was applying for and completely calmed me down and reassured me the interview would be fine. Once taken upstairs, I was taken into a room and asked to fill in some paperwork about my availability and health and safety. The questions were fairly straight forward and the interviewer helped me at time when I became stuck. Overall, everyone was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Before attending I did also realise that I couldn't commit to the hours I had applied for but that wasn't a problem in the end.

Question 1
Tell me a time you had to follow a rule that you didn't agree with. tell me how you would have changed it and what about it you disagreed with.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tesco (Livingston, Scotland) in Feb 2016
Interview
Was told the interview would be held at 2pm, Arrived 10 minutes early as it is nice manners and shows good time keeping but the interview didn't initially start until quarter past 2. It was a group interview (wasn't told to begin with) where we had to go around everyone individually and introduce ourselves, as if it wasn't daunting enough being told to sit in a room full of strangers basically competing against each other. Then was asked (as a group??) two different questions (When have you given/received good customer service and describe a time where you have been in a situation where you had to do something you didn't agree with). We were told to answer these questions as a group, somehow. Lastly, we were asked to go on the group floor and show we could clean up the fridge selves which is easy enough. Then people got called out one by one for a "one to one interview". I was called last and it wasn't a one to one interview she could of just told me there and then I didn't get the job as she wasn't interested in me as an individual more as of me working in a group (Which I find hard to do.)
TLDR; They want you to be loud and be able to be confident in speaking up, if you're quiet you don't have a chance, basically. They have no interest in what you're like as an individual. They want you to stay for 2 hours and then when it comes to you giving a chance to deem yourself worthy of stacking shelves they don't give you it.

Describe a time you had to do something you didn't agree with
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tesco in Aug 2013
Interview
I applied online, and received a phone call a day or two later inviting me to an interview. The first part of the interview involved stacking shelves with the other employees, and the second part of the interview was with a manager. The questions I was asked were straightforward, for example about previous experience.
