The hiring process at Tesco takes an average of 1 day when considering 1 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Christmas Customer Assistant had the quickest hiring process (on average 1 day), whereas Christmas Customer Assistant roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 1 day).
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tesco (Bedford, Inglaterra) in Mar 2023
Interview
Really relaxed and nice, however, be careful when completing the availability form, although you may be more available at the time, change it when your availability changes.
There where instances management would give me shifts a couple days in advance on days I do not usually work, then justify it by saying I have to do it since it since my availability form said I can, however I had previous commitments and also in our contracts it states that they must give us prior warning.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer?
I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco in Feb 2021
Interview
Initial screening + 3 rounds, 1-1.5h each:
1 technical + coding assessment, a system design interview and then a manager round.
These were all on separate days, I seem to have been bad at the first technical round, but they still let the whole process go through only to ghost me and then give mixed up feedback notes from another candidate when I followed-up later.
TDD coding task was pretty simple, but the interviewers really jumped the gun to comment and provide help whenever I stopped to think or did not explain what I was doing at the moment. Pretty weird.
My Tesco interview was quick, easy, and really relaxed. The interviewer was friendly, the questions were simple and practical, and the whole process felt supportive, organised, than I expected. Took place in office.
