I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco in Feb 2018
Interview
Video interview: you can record as many times as you like but it does track how long you take. It was all motivational and competency based - why Tesco, why this programme, etc.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Tesco (Leeds, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
I applied online which was fairly easy and I received a phone call the next day inviting me for an interview in a few hours time. The interview was quite informal and casual. The Deputy Manager was the interviewer and I felt at ease. He told me I would know within 2 days whether I was successful, however, I didn't hear anything back until a week later. I then got the call offering me the job and my induction was organised straight away.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesco (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jan 2018
Interview
Easy online interview. Was called up a few days later to come in for an interview.
When I came in for the instore interview, I was left waiting in the staff room for over an hour with no updates on where interviewer was. When she finally came to interview me I was asked a series of basic questions about previous retail experience.
We then went down onto the shop floor where the employee at the fitting rooms was incredibly rude. The manager told me they were short staffed and because I had previous experience at another clothing store I was just left to my own devices on the shop floor while that employee took her break.
I was on the shop floor for an hour unassisted and wasn't being observed. Another employee on the shop floor noticed my skill level and my competence with the role. I was praised by staff and the manager was happy with my performance due to feedback.
Was told I would be contacted in a week about the decision. I didn't receive any information and had to chase them up myself. I was emailed back saying I didn't get the position. Completely unfair considering they wasted 3 hours of my day and made me work for free!
