Firstly applied through the Tesco website, received a phone call a week later. Was asked to attend a 2 to 1 interview, similar questions to the online application form along with a few personal questions and ending with job criterion such as availability and location. After accepting the offer there was a group induction for the job that lasted a full working day, which was paid.

Applied online for Customer Assistant at Coventry on 16th march.
The first interview was on the 18th march by telephone, where the manager told to me more about the role.
The second interview on the 25 march was a group interview with another 7 people. Before answer the questions, we completed a paper with our availability; then, asked at us 3 question (all same question). After, she take us at the department where will go to work.
The next day I received an email with the offer :)
However they took like one week to send me a letter with my shift ecc...

Interview
A standard interview really, started off speaking about me and my experience, then moved on to situational questions. The person interviewing me was my potential manager, rather than HR etc, so I think it was more a case of him figuring out if we would get along. I think this was a good approach, as I know that some other people were interviewed by managers that they would not be working for in the future.
