The hiring process at Tesco takes an average of 1 day when considering 1 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Christmas Customer Assistant had the quickest hiring process (on average 1 day), whereas Christmas Customer Assistant roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 1 day).
I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco (Hertford, England) in Mar 2015
Interview
After online tests, there was a competency based phone interview that lasted roughly 45 minutes. The interviewer was friendly and relaxed, and asked standard competency questions.
The assessment centre was split into three parts;
A one-on-one interview (again competency based) and also a 3D CV presentation about yourself which was great.
A business simulation task, involving a group discussion to choose three out of six initiatives for a company to invest in.
A presentation prepared on the day to one team member, based on reading a brief and choosing which area a company should focus on in the next 12 months.
Everyone was friendly, relaxed and apart from longer periods of time waiting around, it was a really fun day! Only criticism was that it was held in somewhere quite difficult to get to!

Question 1
Tell me about a time you've not been able to complete a deadline as you planned?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tesco (Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales) in Nov 2014
Interview
Called for an interview. Just basic 1 on 1 questions. Then called back for the driving assessment. Basically driving around town for half an hour in one of the tesco Iveco vans, had to do a reverse around corner, was allowed to give it a second attemp after fluffing up the first attempt, was still about a meter from the curb, but I seemed to pass the assessment anyway. Just watch your speed and keep looking in your mirrors.

Question 1
My background, what my strengths are and if could explain a situation when I helped someone.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tesco (Bengaluru) in Oct 2014
Interview
My interview was through campus placement (around oct 2014, my 7th sem), for a Java/.NET software engineer, package 4.88l per annum, work loacation: Bangalore, India. there were 4 rounds, aptitude, programming, technical, HR.
Programming round is very good, it had 3 questions and you get a choice to program in any of these languages: c++,c,java,c#
questions are the same...and they check your logical ability and only basic programming syntax is enough for coding (I'm an Electronics and Communications Engineer).
I cleared it, because i was able to code for all three questions, last one i had a slight output discrepancy. Even loads of Computer science guys didn't clear it...they perhaps lacked the logic to solve the questions...I was experienced with programming logic, because of several mini projects.
I got out in technical round, for the question that i've mention below.
I was the second last candidate, perhaps the interviewer was tired or something. He said i dont have much practical knowledge of things. Note: I had 3 mini projects under my belt
I answered questions on C++, Hardware etc...
