I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at The Trevor Project in Jan 2021
Interview
They got back to me so long ago that i forgot i even applied for the role, but grateful they called. The recruiter was great. I had 3 parts- phone screening, task project, met with team- presented project. After the last one, they pretty much ghosted me until I reached out multiple times. I asked for feedback as well and heard nothing. I wasted my time, energy, and research for this plan. It took 4+ months.

Interview
The process took many months. Weeks would go by in between with no communication or updates. No employer (especially a nonprofit) should be conducting more than 3-4 rounds of interviews for a non-exec level role.
This process was about 7 different interviews and rounds plus an assignment that took many hours. That's an enormous amount of time and unpaid labor for anyone. If they can't find the right candidate after that many months and interviews, they are looking for a unicorn.
The interview process probably gives a glimpse into the lack of respect for employees and the disorganization internally as well. It's not very efficient to spend that much of your staff's time during the hiring process, especially when the job market is this hot. It must be hard for them to fill roles as many candidates won't hold out for that long of a process.
Several rounds of interviews and also a thought exercise where they asked a bunch of questions related to the role. Was really impressed with all the people that I met in this process!
