Interview was quick but in depth, they really want to know you are passionate about kids and can be a role model and a team player. Started a week after interview.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Tampa, FL) in Mar 2015
Interview
None. I was asked to move from one location to another. This position was offered to me by and Executive Director who knew me. I did not apply or interview. This is how things work at the Y. It's all in who you know. I was told one thing and the job was MUCH different than what was offered to me. Set up for failure! You see it all the time at this Y.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Raleigh, NC) in Mar 2012
Interview
The interviews were really laid back. Basically just understanding how you would interact with the campers and if you would fit into the fun atmosphere at the Y. The want to see if possess certain leadership skills that would make you successful at the Y and a role model to campers. They usually get back to you in a few weeks letting you know if you got the job.
