I applied in-person. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Abingdon, MD)
Interview
Met with Manager first, she recommended me to Director who then interviewed me. Tough questions. History, plans, goals etc. Based on experience, was I willing to start at the bottom? I answered yes.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (San Luis Obispo, CA) in Jun 2011
Interview
There will most likely be a panel interview. My interview involved two directors and one supervisor. The overall pace of the interview was fast paced. The beginning questions dealt with your interest in the position, then to your qualifications, and ended in scenario questions. The scenario questions dealt with emergency situations and ones involving team dynamics. They ask a lot of questions in regards to children's safety and how to engage the other employees.

I was invited to an interview with hiring manager the same week my application was submitted. The following week I was invited for an interview with the group I was going to work with. Then I was asked for three work references. The whole process was very fair and moved quickly.
