      Business Analyst Interview

      Jun 5, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Londres, Inglaterra
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thoughtworks (Londres, Inglaterra) in Oct 2018

      Interview

I had an initial phone call with a member of the recruitment team within a week of having my CV referred, which was very informal and more of a 'get to know you' call. Once I had passed this, I was sent a task to complete and was given around 5 days to complete it and send it back to the recruiter. I then waited 2-3 weeks to receive feedback of whether I had passed this. Once confirmed, there was some miscommunication about when I could come in for an interview which was slightly frustrating, but eventually I was sent some information to prep for my interviews, then I came in for an interview day which consisted of 3 interviews. The first was around social and economic justice and to check if I was a culture fit for ThoughtWorks. It was mostly an informal conversation where the two interviewees and I would discuss a specific social and economic issue of my choice. This was interesting and positive interview for me as it showed that ThoughtWorks look for more than just technical skills in a person, they also look for people with similar values and interests. The second interview was my technical interview, which was a role play scenario with two other BA's, simulating a business requirements meeting. As a grad going for the role this was by far the most stressful part of the process. I was given some time to prepare before the session, however I don't think the aim of the session was made completely clear. This may have been on purpose to see how I interpreted the little information I was given. Other than this the interviewers were great and it was good to get a feel of what a real project scenario could feel like. Final interview was a 10 minute presentation about something that interests me in front of two other ThoughtWorkers. Again this was a different kind of interview to a lot of different companies and demonstrated what ThoughtWorks looks for in a candidate. Once the day was completed I got a call from recruitment within two days with a job offer. Overall the process was relatively smooth, with a few bumps in communication when arranging an office interview, but I didn’t go too long without hearing from them throughout. I was interviewed by 7 different people overall and they were all exceptionally friendly and made an effort to make me feel comfortable. I particularly enjoyed being interviewed by multiple ThoughtWorkers as it helped me get a more well rounded view of what ThoughtWorks is like to work at.

2 rounds of interview - one of them would be case study. Mostly on previous experience and scenario based questions. Case study round would be more of actual BA roleplay

      Interview

Great interview experience. Quick responses, feedback was given timely after each stage. The interviews itself were very engaging, very smart and prepared people, asking challenging but fair questions. I loved the cultural interview.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thoughtworks

      Interview

4 rounds - 1 with HR, 1 technical assessment (conversation where they assess your BA theoretical + situational knowledge), 1 case study, and 1 cultural and leadership interview. The entire process took about 1 month. Overall a fantastic experience; one of the most enjoyable interview experiences I've had. Next steps were always clear and came quickly (within 1 to 2 days), so you never really have to be in limbo for long. Interviewers were also very genuine and kind - they really want to get to know you and assess your fit for the company. They're also very helpful with answering any questions you may have, which really helps in understanding whether Thoughtworks is right for you.
