The preliminary interview with the hiring manager was very pleasant as was the promptness of receiving the Jobvite and interview schedule from the HR coordinator. After arriving for an in-person interview is when things got a little flaky. The HR rep coordinating the interview took fifteen minutes to come down and escort me to the interview. It turns out, the list of people interviewing me (1:1 at a time) had changed and everyone on the list of four interviewers seemed confused about who was going to interview me next. All in all, everyone I spoke with was very friendly and technically savvy. However, after the last interviewer left, no one showed up to let me out. I waited for about five minutes and let myself.
In retrospect, it was clear I had a lot more experience then the hiring manager although that would not have bothered me. I also think they could not afford to match my current salary. I guess it was the lack of any feedback after sending them a thank-you email that put me out as well as the fact that I found out via Jobvite that I was not selected which felt pretty impersonal. I come from a very successful company and felt like I gave the hiring manager tips I ultimately should not have shared if the hiring process was going to be so vague.
