Interviewed for an audit manager position that was extremely technical when I have decades of experience, only applied as Im unemployed right now. I couldnt understand one thing they were asking me (as I honestly dont work in that side of the business) but to my surprise after I pulled myself out of the interview process, was told that I have strong technical ability but too senior!! HA!! Received a call several weeks later, an exec director stepping down, wondering if I wanted to interview for his replacement. I went in thinking the questions will be more managerial as it was a people manager role. No. They want to look for a manager to cover for an exec director level replacement HAHA. Luckily they rejected me, because they know that I am too senior for a manager level role and I would never STAY long term for such low pay. I am a director now and assumed the role was director or exec director, silly me to assume and not ask. Recruiter was very vague when he called me, he didnt even know himself whats going on anymore in that dept.
