The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at UBS in Oct 2011
Interview
1st round of interview was the phone interview- it was really short (15 mins). Did not ask many competency-based questions... they asked questions about how you would invest if you were given 1 million dollars instead. questions also on your motivations of applying to ubs and to that specific division
if you made it through the phone interview, the next and final round would be the assessment centre. the assessment centre consisted of 4 stages:
1) numerical test - 20 questions in 20 minutes. most candidates were unable to complete all of them
2) case study/individual presentation: given a case to analyse for 20 minutes. made to present to one interview. be prepared to defend you opinions
3) one-on-one interviews: technical questions may be asked here, but mostly competency-based questions. try your best to "connect/click" with the interviewer.
4) group exercise- simulation of a company meeting
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
would you invest in XYZ company? why? why not? which other companies would you consider?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at UBS (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jan 2011
Interview
It consisted of a numerical test and the interviews were more like chats. The first interview wass competency based whereas the second was more technical. A few curve balls such as I was asked if those responsible for financial crisis should be punished and about basel 3 and how the swish finish was factored in.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UBS in Nov 2011
Interview
Mostly behavioral: WHY IBD? what do you know about IBD? WHY UBS? Go through your resume
Technical: how to valuate a company? the relationship between rD,rE and WACC
a director from Hong kong office interviewed me, he's very nice and gave you a hint when your answer is not correct
