I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UBS in Mar 2022
Interview
I was approached by an internal recruiter for the aforementioned job position. When I asked about the interview stages she gave a vague reply. Few days later I had about 60 minutes technicals with a member of their quant team; he asked a lot of data analysis and stats questions. Immediately after the interview I received a coding home assignment to complete within 1 week and to email the results to them - this consisted of data analysis of a large dataset and probability related problems.
I spent tops 2 hours doing this and proposed to them to present and discuss my results in another interview. HR emailed back that they would inform hiring manager about my proposal, but I didn’t hear anything from them afterwards. The lack of communication shows disrespect for candidates’ time and it seems that the hiring process isn’t clearly defined and takes too long. I feel right that I didn’t email them my code.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UBS (Londres, Inglaterra)
Interview
In total 5 interviews with people from different areas of the investment bank. In three interviews I was given technical questions (math, computer science, machine learning) and some behavioral questions. Overall, grueling but fair process.
