Question 1
Depending on the personality of the interviewing manager you will get different questions. You should expect more technical questions for engineering positions and more behavioral questions for Customer Service and Sales Positions.
HR will contact you - there will be assessment test, HR interview, TL/Manager interview then Job Offer. Process is pretty easy. But it will take some time depending on the decision making of the hiring manager
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at UL Solutions (Northbrook, IL) in Jun 2024
Interview
I interviewed for the Product Manager position at UL Solutions in June 2024 for the Northbrook, IL location. It was a half-hour screening call with HR. The call was generic, she asked me about my background, and experiences and shared information related to the job. I answered all questions in relevance to the job description and in STAR methodology. I also showcase what I can bring to the table and why I am a good fit and resonate with UL's vision. I was told I would be reverted by EOD for another round, which I did not. I tried reaching back by the end of the week but was ghosted. On Monday morning I got an auto-reject. I did not understand why.
It could be because of sponsorship, which the HR said is a critical issue. They did not mention this in the JD and auto-reject email and no feedback for rejection was provided.
In today's competitive market of 2024 with constant layoffs and application rejections it is hard to get a call. If someone does this even after getting the call, shows how companies treat their employees and candidates. Such behavior not only damages confidence but affects emotional well-being as well.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at UL Solutions
Interview
A third-party recruiter reached out to me about this role, first I talked to him, then the hiring manager, and then the final interview was supposed to be a panel interview with the hiring manager and 3 other people from different departments, but only one showed up. It was frustrating because I had more subject matter knowledge of the other three people's departments compared to the one person who actually showed up (also, in the job description, it didn't specify I was working with that department or needed to have a background on that). I felt it didn't give me a chance to showcase my knowledge since those three other individuals weren't there to ask me questions about their teams. I understand people are busy, but I took the time to look up those other individuals and prepped for the interview only to not get the chance to fully demonstrate my skills.
