Decently high score on ASVAB to be eligible and then pass the DLAB. Then approximately 63 weeks for language school and then about 6 months for additional training.

Question 1
Most difficult is the training, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week of nonstop language education. It's pretty fast paced.

The hiring process was incredibly streamlined. I can not imagine what can occur going into the recruitment office now. I was told that there were no open positions for a 6 month period, but that I could take the ASVAB exam to determine if I should even wait around for an opening to come up. Fortunately I scored in the 94th percentile and was able to wait for 6 months.

There are a given set of questions that they have to ask, I suppose the most difficult to answer was if I had ever used illicit drugs, because I couldn't fathom ever doing that.

Interview
Go to local recruiter and talk about interests, take ASVAB and evaluate scores to potential jobs you would be interested in. Go to MEPS and get cleared for Basic Training.
