I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at US Army (Jacksonville, FL)
Interview
Had to pass a computerized sectioned test then pass a physical. Did basic combat and survival training for 9 months. During this time you are expected to have attained at least a 70 percent or more of the army's standards fitness level. Then completed Advanced Individual Training for my selected job. At the completion of this level you are expected to have attain 100 percent fitness level of the army's fitness standard.During that process a background check was being conducted to insure I could obtain a secret security clearance.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at US Army (Charlotte, NC) in Jan 2014
Interview
Straight forward, lots of paperwork, need to be well rounded. Need to be open to plenty of positions within military. At least five or six interviews to gain admission.
You speak with a recruiter and they ensure you are clear to join. Afterwards you go to your MEPS and they do a very in depth health exam to include mental health. It is important that you be honest throughout the entire process. I tried to leave information out and it prolonged the process.
